Lost and Found: The Harry Langdon Collection

In August I was approached by some composer friends--founders of The Snark Ensemble , and was asked if I would be interested in doing the audio sync for a project of theirs. Three composers here in Washington DC were recruited by David Kalat of All Day Entertainment to compose original musical scores to the short films of Harry Langdon, to appear on a 4-DVD boxed set to be released next month. My job was initially to sync the finished recordings with quicktime video files in Pro Tools. As a recent entrant into the world of Digial Audio Production, I eagerly signed on with the project.

The first two films, which appeared at Slapsticon 2007, were well-received. It was really great to sit in a theatre and be witness to others' reactions to the films--I thought they were histerical, but was it just me? I was delighted to learn that the material really was good.

Due in-part to a crazy recording schedule, I was invited to do all the audio editing for the remaining ten films. I eagerly accepted. Another composer friend actually did the mastering on the project, once I finished the final edits.

Three months of intensive work later, we shipped the final tracks to David in Chicago, for him to put the audio. Here's the link to the collection on Amazon. Lost and Found is due out the day after Christmas this year. I can't wait.
